McKay Youth & Government Delegation Successful at the Capitol

McKay had only four delegates this year for the annual YMCA Youth & Government Legislative session at the State Capitol, but the two teams represented McKay well.

Adriana Escorcia was elected Clerk of the Senate and performed incredibly well, keeping everything organized and efficient.

Raul Marques ran for President of the Senate but lost the campaign by only a few votes.

Both McKay measures passed both the House and the Senate and went to the Youth Governor’s desk. One measure was signed and the other was vetoed due to concerns over costs to small businesses.

The delegates debated well and showed great poise and professionalism!
