Junior Career & College Preparation List
- Review courses for this year and plan for senior year.
- Review high school transcript: Are you on track for graduation?
- Attend financial aid nights, workshops and events.
- Attend college/career fairs
- Attend college visitation events at your school
- Research colleges/universities/career-technical schools and their majors and fields of training
- Explore career possibilities in CIS, Naviance or College Navigator
- Sign up for SAT Practice Question of the Day
- Sign up for ACT Question of the Day
- Attend financial aid nights, workshops and events with a parent or guardian if possible
- Attend college visitation events at your school
- Create account in OSAC Student Portal
- Attend financial aid nights, workshops and events with a parent or guardian
- Attend campus preview days
- Start working on OSAC personal statements and Activity Chart
- Find information on federal financial aid at: StudentAid.ed.gov
- Get an FSA ID: fsaid.ed.gov
- Volunteer in a field you may enjoy or in a career field that is of interest to you
- Contact business owners and professionals in your area to inquire about job shadowing opportunities
- Ask your counselor or ASPIRE coordinator for a list of local scholarships; work on scholarship essays over the summer
