McKay's wrestling program took 10 wrestlers to the 2024 OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union Wrestling State Championships. McKay came back with 3 state placers. Please congratulate the following wrestlers for their outstanding accomplishments and performance:
- Sarahi Chavez is the 2024 State Champion taking first place in her weight class. Congratulations, Sarahi!
- Yair Suarez took 4th place in his weight class. Congratulations Yair!
- Lorenzo Bennett took 5th place in his weight class. Congratulations, Lorenzo!
We would also like to congratulate Stephanie Valdovinos Rodriguez. Stephanie won the very prestigious Tyrone S. Woods Memorial scholarship this weekend at the OSAA State Wrestling tournament. This award recognizes two senior wrestlers each year (one male and one female) in the state of Oregon. Stephanie received this award due to her wrestling achievement, academic success, and community service. Stephanie hopes to use this scholarship to further her education at the University of Southern California. Congratulations, Stephanie!
