McKay RECYCL3D Team Sweeps the Clean Tech Challenge

The McKay team walked away with many awards at the Clean Tech Challenge on September 14, 2017.
The RECYCL3D team win $20,000 as follows:
$10,000 – Winning Portland State’s Cleantech Challenge
$5,000 – Audience Choice Award
$2,500 – Best Pitch
$2,500 – To upgrade the prototype as the team advances as PSU’s representative to InventOR

The team will be using the money for scholarships; $3,500 for each student member and $2,500 to continue forward on this project. The student are Lorenzo Alvarez , Luis Castro Castro, Saul Martinez Chavarin, Cristofer Flores, and Tyler Hull.

The RECYCL3D team is not done competing! We are one of two teams that were selected to represent PSU at InventOR October 10th. College teams from across the state are going to be competing for the grand prize of $25,000. Our McKay team is one of two representing PSU.

Air Quality Update – Tuesday, September 5, 2017

Salem-Keizer Public Schools is currently monitoring air quality and taking steps to ensure the well-being of our students. All facilities are operating on a regular schedule. For those students who have reported, there will be no outdoor physical education or lunch recess.

Athletics update: All outdoor athletic contests scheduled for September 5, 2017 are canceled. All athletic practices will fall under the Oregon State Athletic Association guidelines for outdoor activities.
