Vicky Cruz has played soccer for over 17 years. Her youth athletic career includes playing for McKay High School, Capital Futbol Club, and Westside Metros. She went on to play for Chemeketa Community College and Western Oregon University, while also competing internationally for the Mexico Women’s National Team at the 2010 U-20 World Cup. Currently you can find her playing for Salem’s semi-pro women’s soccer team, Capital FC Atletica, in the summertime.

While playing and earning her educational degrees, Vicky also took her talents and passion for soccer to the local level through coaching. Over the last 12 years Vicky has coached at the club, high school, and academy levels and helped run youth programs at CFC and in local communities.

Through her playing and coaching, Vicky gained experience and a perspective that helps her create positive impacts on athletes. She believes quality coaching at any level can empower children and youth. Vicky builds skills, teamwork, character, confidence, and community through soccer. She looks forward to doing the same for McKay High School where her soccer journey began.
