It’s SPRING! That means it is time for our spring spirit week. Join in the fun by dressing up each day, following the theme selected by students. Show YOUR spirit, especially this week!
McKay’s MESA (Math Engineering Science Achievement) Club is at it again. During second semester students were given the challenge of creating a prosthetic arm for under $80. The electronic elements were created using Arduino. Tuesday, May 16, we took a team of 20 students up to PSU where they competed against other Oregon MESA schools. McKay had one team compete at the national level and two others compete at the state level. During the onsite competitions McKay’s team of I Isaiah Delgado, Gabriel Maza, Stephon Ramirez, and Zach Person took 3rd place in two onsite competitions.
Additionally, the team of Luis Castro, Cristofer Flores, Saul Martines, Lorenzo Alvarez, and Axel Islas will be traveling to PSU’s Business Accelerator next Friday to pitch their business idea to a panel of judges during the semifinal round. This competition is part of the Clean Tech Challenge. Any team moving forward will receive $2,500 to produce an example of their Clean Tech idea.
