We are pleased to announce the new head football coach for the McKay Royal Scots. Coach Greg Mendez brings a wealth of experience to the football program. He comes to Salem from Mesa, Arizona where he guided teams to state playoffs in multiple seasons. He is anxious to organize his coaching staff and begin working with the players. It started out with freshman Science students promoting the use of renewable energy at the Science Expo at Willamette University on April 18th. They taught young visitors at the expo how to put together small cars, then add distilled water to them to fuel the hydrogen fuel cells that ignite the engine — their understanding of chemical reactions came in handy.

This past weekend Humberto Santana won the Cadet State Greco Roman Championship. "Champtana", get it?? also placed third in the freestyle. Carlos Morales also had a good weekend and placed 5th in the High School State Freestyle Championships. Way to go grapplers!
